WANA (Dec 16) – In the 32nd round of diplomatic consultations between Iran and Japan, held in Tehran, the two sides underscored the importance of expanding bilateral relations in economic and trade sectors and enhancing cooperation for regional stability.

 

The talks featured Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, and Japan’s Senior Deputy Foreign Minister, Takehiro Funakoshi.

 

Takht-Ravanchi highlighted the longstanding diplomatic ties between the two countries, stressing the need for continued high-level consultations.

 

He also called for a unified international effort to counter Israel’s ongoing atrocities in occupied Palestine and its aggression in Syria, urging accountability for the regime’s leaders.

 

Funakoshi reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, citing recent diplomatic exchanges as evidence of this resolve. He also emphasized Japan’s readiness to continue political consultations, particularly regarding developments in West Asia.
