Iran Accuses U.S. and Germany of Complicity in Gaza Genocide
WANA (Dec 17) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has accused the United States and Germany of complicity in the “genocide” in Gaza, citing a United Nations special rapporteur’s statement that the two nations supply “99% of weapons exported to Israel.”
In a post on the social media platform X, late Monday night, spokesperson Esmail Baghaei quoted Ben Saul, a UN Special Rapporteur, who stated: “Germany and the United States supply 99% of the weapons exported to Israel.”
Baghaei emphasized that by continuing to arm Israel, the U.S. and Germany are “actively participating in the genocide” and have become “full accomplices and partners in Gaza’s destruction.”
The spokesperson stressed that both nations have violated international legal norms, including the principle of “respect and ensuring respect” for humanitarian law, as well as their obligations under international law to prevent and punish genocide.
“These countries must be held accountable for their unlawful and criminal actions and face justice for their complicity,” Baghaei concluded.
