WANA (Dec 17) – According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, will head a delegation to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, on Tuesday afternoon to attend the meeting of foreign ministers of the Developing Eight (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation.

 

Baqaei stated that the Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting of the eight Islamic developing countries — Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Malaysia, and Bangladesh — will convene on Wednesday, December 18th, one day before the summit of the heads of state, to finalize the summit’s closing documents.

 

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson confirmed that the 11th summit of this organization will take place on Thursday, December 19th, 1403 (Iranian calendar) with the participation of the heads of state, including  Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

The theme of the summit, “Investing in Youth and Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises: Shaping the Future Economy,” has been selected as the central topic.

 

Baqaei further emphasized the importance of leveraging multilateral gatherings to discuss regional issues and announced a special meeting at the heads-of-state level to address the situation in Palestine and Lebanon. This meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday afternoon.
