Iran Rejects U.S. Claims Against Iranian Citizen Noori as Baseless
WANA (Dec 23) – Iran’s Assistant Foreign Minister and Director General for American Affairs, Issa Kameli, rejected the accusations made in a U.S. Department of Justice statement against Iranian national Mohammad Reza Noori, calling the claims politically motivated and unsupported by any credible evidence. Kamali emphasized that these allegations violate fundamental human rights.
Kameli stressed the importance of stability in the region, criticizing U.S. interference and destabilizing actions aimed at fomenting division among regional countries. He stated that nations in the region, aware of their people’s long-term interests, would prevent any new attempts to sow discord, reaffirming a commitment to strengthening neighborly relations.
Kameli further assured that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue its diligent efforts to protect the rights of Iranian citizens worldwide, including Noori.
Regarding the recent arrest of two other Iranian nationals in the U.S. on baseless charges of supplying drone parts to Iran, Kameli condemned the U.S. judiciary’s use of politically motivated rulings to detain Iranian citizens under the pretext of violating unilateral sanctions. He emphasized that these actions are in violation of international law and human rights norms, holding the U.S. government internationally accountable.
Kameli also urged the Italian government to protect the human rights of the Iranian citizen unjustly accused by the U.S. and to facilitate his immediate release so he can return to his family.
