Counterterrorism and Intelligence Operations

Brigadier General Bazm-Shahi highlighted the IRGC Intelligence Organization’s efforts to safeguard national security.

He stated that in addition to countering armed terrorist groups inside and outside Iran and dismantling espionage networks, the organization had taken decisive action against Takfiri militant elements.

Over 200 individuals affiliated with such groups have been neutralized, and in 2023 alone, at least three terrorist teams were apprehended before carrying out their operations.

IRGC’s Role in National Security

Addressing the IRGC’s broader security measures, Bazm-Shahi noted that the corps conducted high-level investigations into reports of student poisonings in schools. He claimed that the organization identified the origin of certain chemical substances linked to these incidents.

Military Advancements

As part of the Malek Ashtar Festival, the IRGC will showcase sections of its missile and air defense systems, as well as fortifications designed to protect strategic assets.

Additionally, the event features the unveiling of newly developed aluminum-hull combat patrol vessels, marking the first time the IRGC has introduced such technology.

Bazm-Shahi further revealed advancements in artificial intelligence and quantum technologies, which will also be presented at the festival.

Cyber Attacks on Iran’s Infrastructure

He referred to the IRGC’s activities in the cyber domain, stating that 36,000 attacks are carried out daily against Iran’s infrastructure, both by human agents and automated bots and technical equipment.
