WANA (Feb 03) – In a significant meeting between the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Salami, the two military leaders underscored the deep bond and unity between the Army and the IRGC, describing themselves as each other’s “shield against enemy bullets.”

Major General Mousavi stated, “The Army and the IRGC are each other’s protectors and the shield against enemy bullets to safeguard the lives of our brothers and sisters. The interaction and solidarity between the Army and the IRGC bring joy to the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and satisfaction to Imam Mahdi (AS).”

Reflecting on the longstanding camaraderie between the two forces, Mousavi added, “We have maintained these close ties and heartfelt meetings since the past. Our connection with our dear colleagues and comrades in the IRGC is even stronger than our ties with our own relatives and kin.”

Addressing the recent 15-month events in the Gaza Strip, Major General Mousavi highlighted the resilience of the Palestinian people. “The enemies of Islam and Muslims did everything they could in Gaza to destroy a nation, but the beautiful manifestations of resistance in Gaza gladdened the hearts of the faithful. The true life and dignity of Gaza emerged from the blood of its martyrs.”

He acknowledged the sorrow and pain caused by the loss of defenseless women, unarmed men, children, and infants, as well as the destruction of buildings and the physical and psychological trauma inflicted. However, he noted that these tragic events brought the Army and the IRGC closer together, reminiscent of their unity during the Sacred Defense era (Iran-Iraq War).

Mousavi also pointed to the recent prisoner exchange as a testament to the complete defeat of the Israeli regime. “On one side, we witnessed the complete failure of the Zionist regime, while on the other, the people of Gaza stood victorious, supported by the school of resistance. This situation allowed us to revisit the years we stood side by side and appreciate each other’s presence even more during these 15 months.”

The Army Commander emphasized that the unity and solidarity between the Army and the IRGC not only please the Supreme Leader, as the representative of Imam Mahdi (AS), but also bring satisfaction to God Almighty. “The more we strengthen these connections and interactions, the more we contribute to the happiness of the Supreme Leader and Imam Mahdi (AS), and ultimately, to the pleasure of God.”

Mousavi concluded by stating that this unity and cohesion will undoubtedly enhance Iran’s national and defensive power. “This solidarity and unity will certainly contribute to the strength and authority of our beloved Iran, both in terms of national defense and overall power. Our revolutionary society and dear people are happy with this unity, while our enemies, who cannot bear to see this harmony, are filled with anger and frustration.”
