Maximum Pressure Has Failed, Nuclear Concerns Are Solvable
WANA (Feb 05) – Iran’s Foreign Minister has responded to the U.S. President’s recent remarks, emphasizing that ensuring Iran does not pursue nuclear weapons is an achievable goal.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting, Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated, “I believe that the maximum pressure policy has been a failed experiment, and trying it again will only lead to another failure. If the main concern is that Iran should not seek nuclear weapons, this is entirely attainable. It is not a difficult issue—Iran has always been a committed member of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).”
Araghchi further reaffirmed Iran’s stance on nuclear weapons, highlighting that the country’s position is clear. “There is also a fatwa issued by the Supreme Leader, which has explicitly set our course on this matter,” he added.
