WANA (Feb 06) – Iran has firmly rejected a reported U.S. plan to evacuate Gaza’s residents to Egypt and Jordan and take control of the enclave, calling it “astonishing” and aligned with Israel’s objective of eliminating Palestine.

Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, denounced the alleged proposal, stating that such ideas blatantly violate international law and the UN Charter. He urged the global community and the United Nations to unequivocally condemn the plan.

Baghaei emphasized that all governments bear responsibility for ensuring the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and liberation from occupation and apartheid.

He warned that Gaza’s residents, who have resisted Israeli aggression for 76 years, will not allow the U.S. and Israel to erase their national and historical identity through such means.

He further condemned the forced displacement of Palestinians as part of a calculated Israeli agenda to eliminate the Palestinian nation. Given its clear violation of international law and human rights principles, he stated, the plan is entirely unacceptable and must be rejected.

Expressing support for countries and international organizations opposing the U.S. proposal, Baghaei called on the UN Security Council, the General Assembly, and the UN Secretary-General to take a firm stance against it.

He also highlighted the strong opposition from Islamic and regional countries to any forced displacement of Gazans and urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to adopt a unified and resolute position on the issue.
