Millions Rally Across Iran to Mark the Revolution’s Anniversary
WANA (Feb 09) – February 10 (22 Bahman) is one of Iran’s most significant national occasions, commemorating the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979. On this day, millions of Iranians take to the streets across the country, holding large-scale rallies. These gatherings, even in the most remote villages, serve as a demonstration of national unity and a reaffirmation of the revolution’s ideals, as people celebrate with marches and special ceremonies.
Each year, the February 11 rallies witness widespread participation from all segments of society, from children and students to the elderly. In Tehran and other major cities, millions fill the streets, while rural communities also hold their own gatherings. Reports indicate that in recent years, the average number of participants nationwide has exceeded 25 million.

For organizers, this event is more than a commemoration; it is a show of popular strength and a message to the world about Iranian unity in the face of external pressures. The massive turnout has repeatedly been cited as an influential factor in the country’s political developments, with Iranian officials regarding it as a key backing for their international policies.
Participants in the rallies often chant slogans reaffirming their commitment to the revolution’s ideals and resistance against external adversaries. The demonstrations showcase the collective solidarity of the people in upholding the values of the Islamic Revolution.

This year, the national celebration of the revolution’s victory is not only a tribute to Iran’s historical achievements but also, given the current international climate and recent statements about Iran, a platform for declaring firm positions against foreign threats.
In Tehran, President Masoud Pezeshkian’s speech will be the focal point of the event. He is expected to emphasize the importance of national unity and resilience against external threats.

Against this backdrop, public participation in the February 11 ceremonies stands as a symbol of national solidarity and Iran’s collective strength. On the international stage, it sends a clear message to Iran’s adversaries: united, Iran stands firm against foreign threats while remaining committed to its principles and national values.
