Student’s Death: Police Negligence & Opposition Exploitation
WANA (Feb 15) – Tehran’s prosecutor announced today that suspects related to the murder case of a University of Tehran student have been arrested. A University of Tehran student, Amir Mohammad Khaleghi, was reportedly attacked by two robbers at 8:20 PM on the evening of February 12 on a street leading to the university. […]
Another university student expressed their frustration in this regard: “He ( the student who was murdered) was only one example of it; thousands like this are happening throughout the city and the country, and the Judicial misconduct is that they release them( robbers) easily and they’re not (the judicial system) very rough towards thieves in this cases, the law definitely must change so that incidents like this can happen less.”
Due to this, individuals are currently anticipating measures to hold the responsible parties accountable and to implement actions that will prevent similar incidents. However, as seen in the report since that day, security guards have been stationed at the entrances of the university.
