Iran Condemns Violence Against Syrian Civilians
WANA (Mar 11) – Iran’s special envoy for Syrian affairs has strongly condemned acts of violence and the killing of innocent civilians from various minority groups in Syria, stressing that the perpetrators must be held accountable.
Mohammadreza Raouf Sheibani, Iran’s special representative for Syrian affairs, stated on the social media platform X:
“The scale of violence and the mass killing of innocent people in Syria’s coastal provinces is shocking. We express our deep sympathy with the victims and their families, praying for their patience in this tragedy.”
He reiterated that any violent action targeting innocent civilians, particularly from Syria’s diverse minority communities, is utterly unacceptable.
Sheibani also emphasized that the Syrian Interim Government must take decisive measures to end the violence and bring those responsible to justice—an expectation widely shared by the region’s people and the global public.
Iran reaffirmed its unwavering support for Syria’s stability, territorial integrity, and the security of all segments of its population.
Tehran further warned that instability in Syria serves the interests of Israel while enabling terrorist and extremist groups to exploit the situation, posing a grave threat to regional peace and security.
