WANA (Mar 15) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Dutch counterpart, Casper Veldkamp, exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional and international developments in a telephone conversation.

 

Araghchi emphasized the Iranian government’s commitment to maintaining strong diplomatic relations with other countries. He reiterated Iran’s readiness to dialogue with European nations based on mutual respect and shared interests.

 

The Dutch foreign minister highlighted the long-standing ties between the Netherlands and Iran, stressing Iran’s significant role in regional affairs. He underscored the need to utilize all diplomatic channels to foster mutual understanding and resolve disputes between nations.

 

Veldkamp also addressed the issue of the three Persian Gulf islands, stating that it remains a bilateral matter between Iran and the United Arab Emirates. He reaffirmed the Netherlands’ support for direct dialogue between the two countries based on international law to resolve any disputes.
