Saudi Defense Minister to Visit Iran
WANA (Apr 17) – Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud, is scheduled to arrive in Iran today at the head of a high-ranking military delegation.
The visit comes at the invitation of Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
During his stay, the Saudi defense minister will hold meetings with General Bagheri as well as senior political and security officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The discussions are expected to focus on expanding defense relations and regional cooperation, with the aim of strengthening peace and stability in the region and enhancing joint efforts in the fight against terrorism. Discussions will also cover Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and possibly Saudi mediation in Iran-U.S. talks.
This marks the second high-level Saudi defense visit to Tehran in recent years. Last year, the Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces also visited Iran at the invitation of Major General Bagheri.
