WANA (Apr 18) – The  Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is in Moscow at the head of a diplomatic delegation for consultations with senior Russian officials, also met on Friday evening with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, who was visiting Russia, on the sidelines of his official meetings with Russian counterparts.

 

In this meeting, Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed bilateral relations as well as the latest developments in the region.

 

Araghchi, who traveled to Moscow on Thursday for a two-day visit at the official invitation of his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the first day of his visit and delivered a written message from the Supreme Leader of Iran.

 

Lavrov, who was present at the meeting between the Iranian envoy and President Putin, hosted Araghchi on Friday at the ceremonial hall of the Russian Foreign Ministry. According to the Iranian Foreign Minister, the detailed discussions from the meeting with Putin were thoroughly reviewed during their bilateral talks on Friday.

 

At the end of the three-hour-long meeting, the foreign ministers of Iran and Russia held a joint press conference, answering questions from journalists.
