WANA (Apr 24) – Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, who also heads the Iranian delegation to the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission, arrived in Moscow on Thursday to attend the 18th meeting of the commission and hold high-level talks with Russian officials.

 

Paknejad was welcomed at Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport by Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali and senior representatives from Russia’s Ministry of Energy, which leads the Russian side of the Joint Commission.

 

During his visit, the Oil Minister is scheduled to meet and hold talks with several Russian officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Energy Minister Tsuliev.

 

Paknejad and Tsuliev, the heads of the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission, will participate in the closing ceremony of the 18th meeting of the commission on Friday, where they will finalize the official document of the session.

 

Preparatory expert-level talks between Iranian and Russian working groups commenced on Wednesday, April 23, covering 18 specialized sectors to draft the commission’s concluding agreement.

 

The outcomes of these two days of consultations will culminate in the signing of the final document of the 18th Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission on Friday.

 

The 17th session of the commission was previously held in Tehran in February 2024, hosted by Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum.
