WANA (May 03) – There are several reasons why the United States will not engage in a war with Iran:

First, Iran possesses significant offensive capabilities—particularly at sea. If even a single U.S. aircraft carrier were sunk by Iran’s suicide weapons, which is entirely possible, the blow to America’s military prestige among its global rivals would be devastating.

Second, Donald Trump views foreign policy through a cost-benefit lens, and war in the Persian Gulf would carry costs dozens of times greater than any potential gain. Iran is not a disarmed country like Iraq once was, and U.S. interests in the Gulf would be highly vulnerable. This is exactly why Trump insists on Iran’s missile disarmament.

Third, Trump is pursuing hundreds of billions of dollars in trade with Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries. Trade thrives under stability. He understands that adventurism could ignite a powder keg of energy conflict in the Gulf—a region where Iran holds significant sway over energy security.

Fourth, in times of real danger, the interests, security, and positions of Arab nations diverge from Trump’s confrontational approach. These countries have expressed their concerns and objections—both to the U.S. and to Iran.
