WANA (May 03) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned a recent Israeli drone strike on a humanitarian aid ship bound for Gaza, calling it a blatant crime against the Palestinian people and a terrorist act that threatens maritime safety.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei made the remarks on Saturday in response to the drone attack on the aid ship “Conscience”, which was reportedly carrying food and humanitarian supplies to Gaza when it was targeted in international waters off the coast of Malta.

Baghaei said the attack took place amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza, marked by relentless bombardments and a deliberately imposed famine.

“The strike on the Conscience is part of a broader genocidal and colonial project aimed at annihilating the Palestinian people and ensuring the continuation of the blockade on food and medicine reaching innocent civilians in Gaza,” he stated.

He further described the attack as a flagrant war crime and a grave violation of international humanitarian principles, saying the deprivation of food, water, and medicine for injured and grieving women and children in Gaza constitutes a crime against humanity.

The Iranian spokesman also held the United States and other supporters of Israel complicit in these crimes, urging the international community and Islamic nations to unequivocally condemn Israel’s actions. He called for steps to end the regime’s impunity and ensure that its leaders are prosecuted and punished for their actions.
