Unity Is the Greatest Benefit for the Islamic Ummah
WANA (May 04) – In a meeting with officials and organizers of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, the Supreme Leader of Iran described unity as the most vital interest of the Islamic world, warning that disunity enables foreign domination and regional crises.
He stated that Hajj is perhaps the only religious duty whose structure is entirely political, noting: “It brings people together in one place, at one time, every year—this very gathering is political in nature.”
Highlighting the current challenges facing the Muslim world, he stressed that unity is the greatest benefit Hajj can promote today. “If the Islamic Ummah stands united, if hands are joined, coordinated, and energies combined, tragedies such as Gaza, Palestine, and the ongoing pressure on Yemen would not occur,” he said.
The Leader warned that division among Muslims allows global powers to exploit the region: “When we are apart, American colonialism, the Zionist regime, and certain other powers prioritize their own interests over the rights of nations. This results in situations like what we see in Gaza.”
He emphasized that unity brings security, progress, and collective strength: “We can support other Muslim countries where they lack resources—and they can help us in return. Mutual cooperation benefits all.”
The Leader also underlined the responsibilities of Islamic governments, particularly the host country of Hajj, as well as influential figures such as scholars, intellectuals, writers, and speakers. “They all play a critical role in guiding public opinion and raising awareness,” he added.

“There is no greater benefit for the Islamic Ummah than unity. If the Islamic Ummah unites, the issues of Palestine and #Gaza would not arise, and #Yemen would not be under such pressure.” pic.twitter.com/bPWXCyJfca— WANA News Agency (@WANAIran) May 4, 2025
