Standing Against the Brutality in Gaza Is a Collective Duty
WANA (May 14) – The Supreme Leader of Iran described the savage behavior of the Israeli criminals—such as attacking ambulances, bombing hospitals, and killing defenseless patients and children—as the complete opposite of the spirit of sacrifice and humanitarian aid. He stated: “Today, the world is being run by these beasts in human form, and the Islamic Republic considers it its duty to stand firm against their savagery and bloodshed.”
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized the need to sustain the Iranian nation’s spirit of selflessness and compassion through cultural development. He remarked: “This noble spirit stands in stark contrast to the crimes and brutality of the Zionist regime in Gaza and the West’s support for them. Confronting this bloodthirsty false front is a shared responsibility.”
The Leader also highlighted the role of motivated and innovative youth entering various fields such as industry, politics, development, literature, and the arts, crediting them for the country’s current progress. He added: “With such determined and enthusiastic youth, nothing is impossible for the country.”
He again condemned the violent acts of the Israeli regime, reiterating that attacking ambulances, bombing hospitals, and slaughtering defenseless civilians represents the height of cruelty. He stressed: “The world is under the control of these human-like animals, and it is the Islamic Republic’s duty to resist their barbarism and bloodlust.”
Ayatollah Khamenei also stressed that protesting crimes against civilians is a universal responsibility. He said: “This sense of duty drives action and keeps the light of hope burning in people’s hearts. It is also what pushes adversaries—such as Western powers—to oppose the Islamic Republic. If we stopped denouncing their savagery, they would no longer be hostile toward us.”
He concluded by identifying the Islamic Republic’s rejection of the corrupt Western civilization as the main reason for the hostility of arrogant powers. He declared: “Falsehood is doomed to perish, but achieving this requires action and resistance. We must avoid passivity, retreat, flattery, or praising falsehood, as these only enable its advancement.”
