Explaining the dimensions of the hegemony system’s combined war against the Iranian nation and the effects of the cruel American sanctions, he stated: “Expanding bilateral and regional cooperation, especially with neighboring countries in the economic field, is one of the strategic priorities of our country.” Shamkhani mentioned that it is important to strengthen the process of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, transportation, agriculture, trade, banking and environment and added: “By taking the necessary measures, the obstacles in these sectors should be removed quickly.”

 

He also considered it necessary to strengthen multilateral cooperation in regional organizations, especially Shanghai Cooperation Organization, to intelligently use the exchangeable capacities of member countries. The Secretary of the National Security Council of Iran stated that the danger of terrorism and extremism continues to threaten the security of the region and the world, and emphasized the need to continue and increase regional and international cooperation to completely eliminate the dangers of this sinister phenomenon. Referring to the crisis in Ukraine, Shamkhani said: “Iran welcomes and supports any initiative that leads to a ceasefire and peace between Russia and Ukraine based on dialogue and is ready to play a role in ending the war.”
