WANA (Feb 21) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko who is visiting Tehran for talks with his Iranian counterpart, on Monday met with Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.

 

In the meeting, Amirabdollahian welcomed the boosting of cooperation between the two countries. He also highlighted the need for expanding and strengthening this cooperation.

The Iranian foreign minister then pointed to the ongoing challenge at the regional level and underlined the need for regional cooperation. Amirabdollahian said Iran is ready to host the meeting of the 3+3 foreign ministers (Russia, Turkey, Iran+the three South Caucasus countries) in Tehran.

 

The Russian official for his part referred to cooperation between Iran and Russia at the bilateral, regional and international levels, saying it is important for Tehran and Moscow to boost this cooperation.
