WANA (Oct 14) – The killing and injuring of around 100 elite soldiers from the Golani Brigade, including officers and commanders, and possibly even some senior commanders of the Israeli occupation army, is not just a powerful military feat; it is also an extraordinary intelligence achievement.

While Israel was claiming that it had dismantled Hezbollah’s leadership and that the time had come to march into Beirut, Hezbollah demonstrated that its command structure remains as strong as it was on the first day of the war.

Its combat operations organization and up-to-date intelligence capabilities clearly identified the exact time and place where the elite Golani Brigade soldiers and their commanders would gather, allowing them to be collectively struck down.

With tonight’s devastating blow, which Israeli media have called the deadliest since the beginning of the war, Hezbollah showed just how accurate the reports about the complete replacement of its fallen commanders were. The clever leadership of Hezbollah has clearly anticipated and calculated for the toughest days and scenarios.

In last night’s operation, it appears a two-stage drone was used, first launching a missile and then crashing into the gathering of Israel’s soldiers. This suggests that the operation was managed from the command center until the very last second, which could be yet another surprise.

It seems that Hezbollah’s decentralized yet overlapping and networked command structure still holds many undisclosed nightmares for the Israelis.

Some media sources claim that during Hezbollah’s lightning attack, Herzi Halevi, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, was present with the Golani soldiers and was targeted. Others say that he survived.

Israel must now reveal whether he is dead or alive. Clearly, from now on, showcasing regime leaders and commanders at public events and meetings has become costly due to the risk of them being tracked.
