WANA (Aug 26) – Seyed Ammar al-Hakim, leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, met today with Ali Larijani, the former Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, in Baghdad to discuss recent developments in regional politics and the ongoing bilateral relations between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

During the meeting, al-Hakim highlighted the significant impact of the Arbaeen pilgrimage on the people of Iraq, Iran, and the broader region. Both leaders explored the implications of this religious event on fostering closer ties between the two nations.

 

Al-Hakim also praised the Palestinian people’s resistance and called for an immediate halt to the war in Gaza. He emphasized the need for humanitarian aid to be delivered to the displaced and for their safe return to their homes.

 

The Iraqi leader further stressed the international community’s responsibility to end the conflict and warned of the potential repercussions of the ongoing war on the region and the world.
