WANA (June 19) —A group of House of Representatives legislators requested the Biden administration’s intervention regarding Iran’s oil sanctions.

In a letter, representatives from the two main parties in the US House of Representatives urged the Biden administration to promptly enforce the sanctions against Iran that were approved earlier this year. These sanctions are intended to target Iran’s oil exports to China.

The legislation to prevent Iranian oil tankers from docking, along with energy sanctions on Iran and China, was included in the supplemental bill of the national security budget. Congress approved this bill, and it became law in April with the support of the Republican and Democratic parties.
