WANA (Oct 02) – In a conversation with the foreign ministers of the UK, Germany, and France, Iran’s Foreign Minister stated, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has only exercised its legitimate right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, targeting exclusively the military and security bases of the Zionist regime.”

On Tuesday evening, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, held phone conversations with the foreign ministers of the UK, France, Germany, and several other countries regarding the missile operations of the Iranian armed forces, as well as the ongoing tensions in Gaza and Lebanon.

During these talks, Araghchi referred to over two months of restraint by Iran following the Zionist regime’s terrorist attack and the assassination of Martyr Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, and the continued warmongering of this regime in Gaza, extending into Lebanon, which has so far resulted in the death of over 42,000 innocent people in Gaza and Lebanon. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran has exercised its legitimate right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, and has solely targeted the military and security bases of the Zionist regime.

The Iranian top diplomat further stressed: “The operation has ended, but if the Zionist regime seeks to retaliate, our response will be more severe. The Islamic Republic of Iran is not seeking to escalate tensions or war, although it does not fear war. We warn any third party not to interfere in this conflict.”

Araghchi concluded by reiterating the call for all countries to work towards establishing a ceasefire and preventing further attacks by the Zionist regime, as well as further escalation of tensions in the region, particularly in Lebanon and Gaza.
