WANA (Oct 05) – Iranian Deputy FM Araghchi, upon arriving in Damascus, stated that the main goal of his trip to Syria is to continue consultations on regional developments.

 

He noted that important discussions were held with Lebanese officials in Beirut, and useful talks took place. Araghchi emphasized that these discussions will continue in Damascus for further consultation.

 

He stressed that Iran has always maintained close contact with the Syrian government regarding regional developments. According to him, the most pressing issue is the ceasefire in Lebanon, particularly in Gaza, and there are initiatives that are hoped to succeed.

 

He also pointed to the ongoing hostilities and crimes by the Zionist regime, stating that this regime understands no language other than force and war, continuing its crimes in Beirut and Gaza. Araghchi stressed the need for collective efforts at the global level to stop these atrocities.

 

In conclusion, he highlighted that diplomatic efforts are ongoing, expressing hope that Iran and Syria can reach greater consensus on future steps.
