Araghchi: Iran’s Action is Over Unless Israel Provokes Retaliation
WANA (Oct 02) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, announced in a post on his X account that: “the country’s defensive actions have concluded unless the Israeli regime provokes further retaliation.”
Commenting on Iran’s missile strike the previous night, Araghchi stated: “Tonight, we targeted only Israeli military and security sites under Article 51 of the UN Charter, which recognizes the right to self-defence. These sites are responsible for the mass killings in Gaza and Lebanon.”
He emphasized that this action followed nearly two months of restraint, which was intended to create space for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Araghchi warned that any further provocations from Israel would be met with a stronger and more decisive response. He added, “Israel’s supporters now bear greater responsibility to rein in the extremists in Tel Aviv and avoid getting entangled in their reckless actions.”
