Araghchi: Oman to Decide Venue for Next Tehran-Washington Talks
WANA (Apr 17) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described his recent meeting with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as “constructive,” and announced that Oman will determine the location for the next round of indirect talks between Tehran and Washington.
“Oman has been designated as the host of the indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States,” Araghchi said following his meeting with Grossi in Tehran on Wednesday. “It is up to Oman to choose the venue for the next round of talks.”
Araghchi added that Tehran is still waiting for a final decision from Omani officials. “We are awaiting word from our Omani counterparts and my Omani counterpart regarding the location of the upcoming discussions,” he noted.
Earlier reports in some media outlets had suggested that Rome would host the second round of Iran-U.S. indirect talks, expected to take place on Saturday.
