Araghchi to UK Foreign Secretary: Iran Has Always Been Ready for Dialogue
WANA (Jan 29) – Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held discussions with David Lammy, the UK Foreign Secretary, in response to a telephone call regarding bilateral issues, nuclear negotiations, and regional developments.
During this candid conversation, Araghchi outlined Iran’s position on its peaceful nuclear activities, emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been ready for dialogue based on its principles and national interests.
He stressed that this approach is not new and that past negotiations have been conducted on the same basis.
The Iranian Foreign Minister reaffirmed his support for establishing and extending ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon, underscoring the necessity of halting Israeli crimes and aggression.
Araghchi also reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been committed to peace and stability in the region and will spare no effort in this regard.
He warned against any escalation of tensions in Yemen, describing such actions as a threat to regional stability and security.
Both sides discussed the latest state of bilateral relations, welcomed recent positive developments, and highlighted the importance of continued diplomatic consultations. Additionally, some consular matters were reviewed during the call.
