Araghchi Warns Regional Nations Against U.S. Divisive Tactics
WANA (Mar 25) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein held a phone conversation to discuss the latest regional developments.
The ministers exchanged views on the ongoing situation following the renewed Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon and the U.S. military aggression against Yemen.
Iran Condemns Israeli Aggression and Calls for Urgent Action
Araghchi strongly condemned Israel’s continued genocide in Gaza and its repeated violations against Lebanon, which he said blatantly breached ceasefire agreements with clear U.S. backing.
He decried the killing of innocent women and children and called for immediate international and regional action—particularly from Islamic and neighboring countries—to stop these crimes and prevent further instability in the region.
Concerns Over U.S. Military Presence in the Region
Araghchi also warned of the serious dangers posed by U.S. forces using military bases and airspace in the region for hostile operations.
He urged regional countries to take necessary measures to safeguard their sovereignty and prevent foreign military forces from using their territories to destabilize the region.
U.S. Sanctions and Allegations Against Iran
Referring to U.S. sanctions on Iran’s oil industry, Araghchi dismissed Washington’s accusations as baseless and politically motivated.
He urged neighboring and friendly nations to remain vigilant against American attempts to sow discord in the region, stating that such actions serve Israel’s interests by undermining regional cooperation.
Iraq Calls for Regional Cooperation
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein expressed deep concern over the escalating crisis and the grave risks posed by Israel’s continued aggression against Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria.
He stressed the need for regional dialogue and cooperation to ease Palestinian suffering and protect regional peace and stability.
