WANA (Aug 23) – In a phone call, Annalena Baerbock, the German Foreign Minister, congratulated Seyed Abbas Araqchi on his appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

Baerbock expressed hope that under Iran’s new government, the issues and obstacles hindering the relations between the two countries would be resolved, leading to the expansion of bilateral ties.

 

Seyed Abbas Araqchi, while thanking his German counterpart for the call and congratulations, emphasized the importance of continued political consultations between the two countries. He stated that mutual respect and a focus on shared interests are essential for maintaining and strengthening relations in various fields.

 

According to a statement from Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Iranian and German foreign ministers also exchanged views on issues of mutual concern in bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments. They reaffirmed the determination of both countries to resolve current issues through dialogue and the continuation of political consultations.
