Araqchi: Support for Israeli Regime Must Stop
WANA (Oct 28) – In a phone call with the UK Foreign Minister, the Iranian Foreign Minister called for an end to military and political support for the Israeli regime.
During the conversation, David Lammy, the UK’s Foreign Minister, discussed the latest regional developments with Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister.
Araqchi, outlining Iran’s position on the Israeli regime’s aggressive actions against several Iranian military and defense centers, called for an end to military and political backing for Israel. He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran would not hesitate to exercise its inherent and lawful right to defend its territorial integrity and national sovereignty according to recognized principles of international law and the UN Charter.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also emphasized the urgent need for the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, to condemn the Israeli regime’s aggressive actions, which are part of a continuum of crimes in Gaza and Lebanon. He urged immediate measures to hold the leaders of the Israeli regime accountable and to end the genocide and killings in Gaza and Lebanon.
In the phone call, UK Foreign Minister David Lammy also highlighted the tense conditions in the region, underscoring the need for restraint from all sides to support ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and prevent the expansion of war and instability in the region.
