WANA (Oct 20) – According to published reports, an Israeli regime drone initially fired a missile at the car of Iranian citizen Masoumeh Karbasi and her Lebanese husband, Reza Abbas Awada, on Saturday, which struck near the vehicle. After the first attack, Reza Abbas Awada managed to pull his wife out of the car, but in a second drone strike, both were killed.

 

The Iranian Embassy in Lebanon announced the assassination of Masoumeh Karbasi, stating that it demands practical, immediate, and effective action from international organizations to protect innocent lives constantly under threat from the war machine of the Zionist regime.

 

In a statement shared on its official account on the social media platform X, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, wrote: “It is with deep regret that we inform our dear compatriots that, as a result of an inhumane drone attack by the Zionist regime on a public location in the Jounieh area of Lebanon on Saturday, October 19, 2024, one of the Iranian women residing in Lebanon, Masoumeh Karbasi, along with her husband, attained martyrdom.”

 

The statement further read: “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut, while offering congratulations and condolences to the children and relatives of this dear individual and strongly condemning this savage act by the Zionists targeting innocent civilians, calls on international bodies for practical, immediate, and effective action to protect the lives of innocent people who are under constant threat from the Zionist war machine.”

 

Narges Ghadirian, wife of Mojtaba Amani, the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, also wrote in a message on social media platform X: “My dear and kind friend, Mrs. Masoumeh Karbasi, was assassinated by the bloodthirsty Zionist regime.”

 

She also added: “She had five children and always attended prayer ceremonies with her two-year-old daughter. May the sweet nectar of martyrdom be a blessing to her pure and faithful soul.”
