WANA (Nov 25) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry has clarified that Majid Takht-Ravanchi’s recent visit to Norway was part of a standard diplomatic assignment, countering speculations about its link to upcoming talks with European countries.

Following reports of Iran resuming discussions with representatives from France, Germany, the UK, and the EU in Geneva, focused on bilateral, regional, and international issues—along with stalled negotiations on the revival of the JCPOA and sanctions relief—some domestic media outlets suggested that Takht-Ravanchi’s visit last week was connected to these developments.

Responding to these speculations, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated: “The deputy foreign minister’s visit to Norway was a routine diplomatic mission aimed at exchanging views on bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.”
