WANA (Oct 24) – Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, stated that “the United Nations is not just the United States” and lamented that the organization is losing its very purpose due to America’s unconditional support for the occupying entity.

 

In a post on his X account, Baghaei noted that the UN’s Day in 2024 coincides with the 384th day of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

 

He remarked that the UN, established on October 24, 1945, to save future generations from the ravages of war and promote the rule of law and justice, has become an ineffective entity incapable of taking collective action to halt the horrific genocide in Gaza and the Israeli regime’s aggressions against Lebanon.

 

Baghaei added that Israel has become so emboldened that it has killed 230 UN staff members in less than a year, declared the Secretary-General undesirable, torn the UN Charter, ignored the International Court of Justice’s orders to stop the genocide, and continues to escalate its attacks day by day.

 

He emphasized that the UN is not just the United States; responsible member states of the UN must take action to curb the warmongering of the Israeli regime.
