WANA (August 05) – This afternoon, Ali Bagheri, the head of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, met with ambassadors and representatives of foreign countries residing in Tehran.

In his opening remarks, Bagheri welcomed the ambassadors and stated that the purpose of the meeting was to clarify the dimensions of the recent terrorist attack by the Israeli regime, which resulted in the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh and his bodyguard.

The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that for nearly eight decades, a nation has been subjected to continuous destruction and annihilation, with its lands forcefully seized and what remains under siege.

He lamented the killings of both young and old, the mutilation of women and children, and the targeting of intellectuals through assassination or imprisonment, portraying this as a deliberate project aimed at the complete genocide of a people.

Bagheri further noted that the shameful catastrophe occurring in the occupied Palestinian territories over the past ten months is not merely the result of the cruelty and superiority complex of an apartheid-occupying entity but also stems from the impunity felt by criminals who believe they are unconditionally supported by the United States and several other Western countries.

He pointed out that the indifference imposed on the international community exacerbates the situation and emboldens criminals to advance their genocidal agenda against the Palestinian people. This indifference is evident in the reluctance or inability of the United Nations and other regional institutions to take effective measures to halt the genocide of Palestinians.

Bagheri stressed that the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh should be viewed in this context, declaring it part of the broader genocide project against Palestinians. He outlined that this genocide is being carried out on multiple levels, including the slaughter of children and women in Gaza, as well as the use of starvation and medical blockades as tools of death.
