WANA (Oct 23) – Brigadier General Gholamreza Jalali, head of Iran’s Passive Defense Organization, stated during a press conference held to explain the organization’s plans: “The issue of confrontation and resistance is fundamental and strategic, but war and conflict are two-sided matters. However, the Islamic Republic of Iran has become a major power.”

He added, “This year, we have structured our plans around national readiness and unity, focusing on infrastructural preparedness to counter threats. We have reviewed all scenarios and prepared eight directives as approved by the Supreme National Security Council to address all threats. These have been communicated to elevate the country’s readiness against the enemy. In this regard, all groups and factions must be united in facing the enemy.”

Referring to the organization’s issued guidelines for enhancing the readiness of organizations, General Jalali said, “Briefing sessions and operational actions have been integrated into these guidelines, focusing on infrastructure protection and replacement operations to ensure the continuity of services to the public through these plans.”

General Jalali stated, “We believe these eight guidelines can cover all threats in military, cyber, sabotage, and other domains.”

He referenced the events in Lebanon and the explosion of pagers and radios, saying, “We have repeatedly warned about threats based on new technologies, artificial intelligence, and cyber threats, and we have taken actions based on using local equipment and technologies to counter them. Fortunately, with the cooperation of knowledge-based companies, academic centers, and universities, we have made significant progress, and we are witnessing the production of indigenous servers in the field of cybersecurity.”

Brigadier General Jalali emphasized the importance of indigenous secure servers in cybersecurity and said, “We expect companies and organizations to avoid purchasing any foreign servers. In the field of data leakage from organizations, we have also developed three indigenous systems based on artificial intelligence, and the data control system has also been domestically produced.”

He continued, “We have developed the SCADA system, which is the most important indigenous industrial control system, and I recommend promoting and cultivating the use of local capacities. The explosion of pagers demonstrated that we cannot rely on foreign products in the technology domain.”

General Jalali referred to the COVID-19 experience as a significant and painful lesson for the world, stating, “We developed the biological defense operational system based on the lessons learned from COVID-19. This year, we used these guidelines to combat the Dengue fever outbreak, and the data shows we achieved considerable success in controlling the spread of mosquitoes and the disease.”

Regarding potential cyberattacks, he said, “In this domain, we have identified a source, and the Zionist regime was impacted in the October 7th operation. The country’s internal readiness has also contributed to the decline in attacks and damage in this field.”
