Cuba Condemns Trump’s Oil Sanctions Against Iran
WANA (Feb 10) – Cuban Foreign Minister condemned the new U.S. oil sanctions against Iran.
Bruno Rodríguez, Cuba’s Foreign Minister, denounced U.S. President Donald Trump’s approval of sanctions targeting Iran’s oil sector in a statement.
On his official account on X, Rodríguez wrote: “We condemn the U.S. government’s unilateral coercive measures against Iran’s oil sector.”
He added: “These arbitrary actions violate international law and impact the stability of an already turbulent region.”
Earlier, the U.S. Treasury Department, as part of its maximum pressure campaign against Iran, imposed new sanctions on several individuals and tankers accused of facilitating the transfer of Iranian crude oil to China.
The Treasury Department announced that it is sanctioning multiple individuals and tankers involved in transporting millions of barrels of Iranian crude to China. These are the first sanctions imposed on Iran under Trump’s new administration.
The sanctions target individuals and companies based in China, India, and the UAE.
