WANA (Apr 14) – Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced today (Monday) that a diplomatic delegation from Iran is expected to visit Moscow soon. During the visit, discussions are planned with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and other senior Russian officials.

According to Esmaeil Baghaei, Iran’s FM spokesman, in today’s press briefing, Iran’s FM, Abbas Araghchi, will be among the Iranian delegation.

This visit comes after recent indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran, which took place last Saturday in Muscat, Oman, focusing on Iran’s nuclear program.

The Iranian delegation for these talks was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the U.S. side was represented by Special Presidential Envoy for Western Asia, Steve Vought. Both sides agreed to continue the dialogue following their discussions.

Andrei Rudenko, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, also commented today, stating that Russia welcomes the indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington concerning Iran’s nuclear program in Oman and hopes for clear outcomes in the near future.

He added, “We always assess any negotiation based on its results. As far as I understand, the talks will continue next week, so we expect tangible and clear outcomes.”
