Egypt and Iran’s Foreign Ministers Discuss Gaza and Regional Security
WANA (Aug 24)- In a phone conversation, Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel-Aty, congratulated Seyed Abbas Araghchi on his appointment as the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the call, Abdel-Aty provided a report on Egypt’s recent diplomatic efforts to stop the war against Gaza and to deliver international humanitarian aid.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister emphasized the need for all parties to work towards preventing the expansion of the conflict in the region.
In response, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s legitimate right to retaliate against the Zionist regime’s terrorist act in Tehran, which led to the assassination of Ismael Haniyeh.
Both sides also agreed to continue consultations and political discussions regarding bilateral relations and regional developments.
