WANA (July 17)– Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has denied certain alleged reports in an American media outlet regarding Iran’s role in the recent armed attack on former U.S. President Donald Trump.

 

The spokesperson emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to pursue legal action against Trump for his direct role in the crime of assassinating General Qassem Soleimani, the martyred commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

 

However, he strongly rejected any involvement in the recent armed attack on Trump or any claims about Iran’s intention to carry out such an action, considering these allegations to have malicious political motivations and objectives.

 

Iran UN Representative’s Reaction 

The reaction of Iran’s representative to the United Nations was similar. He emphasized Iran’s commitment to international law and the principles of the UN Charter, stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran has no plans or intentions to conduct armed attacks against current or former officials of other countries.

 

He added that such accusations are baseless, and aimed at creating tension and tarnishing Iran’s international image. The Iranian representative also stressed that Iran seeks to achieve justice through legal and diplomatic channels and condemns any military or terrorist actions.

 

“These accusations are unsubstantiated and malicious. From the perspective of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Trump is a criminal who must be prosecuted and punished in a court of law for ordering the assassination of General Soleimani. Iran has chosen the legal path to bring him to justice.”

 

 

Claim Iran plot to assassinate former President Donald Trump

Recently, it has been reported that U.S. intelligence agencies uncovered a plot by Iran to assassinate former President Donald Trump.

 

This plot is believed to be a form of retaliation for the 2020 killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani by a U.S. drone strike, ordered by Trump. The intelligence prompted the Secret Service to increase security measures around Trump.

 

Iran has denied these allegations, asserting that they are pursuing legal means to hold Trump accountable for General Soleimani’s assassination, rather than planning an assassination.
