OIC Emergency Summit in Riyadh: Islamic and Arab Leaders Unite Against Israeli Aggression
WANA (Nov 11) – The second emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League began in Riyadh, with officials from over 50 Muslim countries in attendance.
This meeting, proposed by Iran and facilitated by Iran’s Foreign Minister, gathers leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to discuss ending Israel’s aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, providing aid to refugees, and coordinating a unified stance to pressure the international community into preventing further attacks by the occupying Israeli forces.
Iran’s First Vice President will deliver a speech at this summit.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated today (Monday) at the Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh: “We strongly reaffirm our opposition to Israel’s mass killing of Gaza’s people. Israel’s insistence on continuing its aggression against Palestinians is obstructing peace efforts.”
He further emphasized the importance of continued efforts to establish a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, declaring, “We demand an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories.”
Mohammed bin Salman also condemned the blocking of humanitarian work by UNRWA in Palestinian territories, adding: “We oppose threats to Lebanon’s security, the displacement of its citizens, and violations of Lebanese sovereignty.”
He also denounced Israeli attacks on Iran, urging Israel to respect Iranian sovereignty and cease hostilities.

Aboul Gheit: Palestine Is at the Heart of the Middle East
Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, emphasized that a desired Middle East must place Palestine, within the 1967 borders, at its core. He called for a ceasefire in Gaza and efforts to implement a two-state solution. He urged a halt to the conflict in Lebanon, the enforcement of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and security guarantees along the borders.
Aboul Gheit warned that failure to secure an immediate ceasefire would lead to more bloodshed and an increased risk of widespread regional unrest, saying, “The occupying regime’s actions are destroying the future of peace and coexistence in the region.”
Mahmoud Abbas: Israel’s Aggression Continues with U.S. Support
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas stated that the international community has failed to stop Israel’s war on Gaza, adding, “Israel’s aggression continues with U.S. support. Arab and Islamic unity is crucial.”
Abbas called on the UN Security Council and General Assembly to suspend Israel’s UN membership, enforce a ceasefire in Gaza, and support humanitarian aid efforts.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi condemned Israel’s aggression against Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, saying, “The future of our region and the world hangs in the balance, and the assault on Gaza and Lebanon is unacceptable.”
El-Sisi stressed that establishing a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital is crucial for security and stability.

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati addressed the summit, stating that Lebanon faces a critical crisis and unprecedented aggression violating international norms and laws.
He urged support for Lebanon’s government and institutions and called for ongoing humanitarian aid to Lebanon.
Assad: If We Agree on Goals, the Tools Must Change
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad emphasized that Israel’s crimes have continued unabated for a year, adding that last year’s emphasis on stopping the war has led only to more casualties and displaced persons in Palestine and Lebanon.
He said, “When Palestinians are denied the right to live, what value do rights hold? Our immediate priority must be to halt the killing, genocide, and ethnic cleansing.”
Anwar Ibrahim: Consensus Needed on Israel’s Expulsion from the UN
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim called for an end to the massacres in Gaza and Lebanon, labeling Israel a “savage regime” committing genocide against defenseless Palestinians. He argued for a consensus on expelling Israel from the UN, asserting that Tel Aviv is a threat to the region and the world.
Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani noted that Israel continues its aggression in Palestinian territories, and international efforts to halt these actions have been ineffective.
Senegal’s President stated that the Palestinian people are facing unprecedented violence, stressing the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.
Tajikistan’s President, Emomali Rahmon, also highlighted that Israeli aggression against Gaza and Lebanon has placed the region in an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, calling for support in achieving a ceasefire.
