WANA (Oct 27) – The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, responded to the recent Israeli aggression on Iran, which led to the loss of four Iranian military personnel who died defending the nation. He stated, “The success and vigilance of the brave defenders in our army and the IRGC once again demonstrated that the apartheid Zionist regime, in every encounter with the proud people of Iran, is transformed into a global mockery.”

The Speaker emphasized that while the Israeli regime’s military action against Iran stemmed from a place of desperation and ultimately ended in another failure for Israel, the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the right to defend itself under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. He affirmed that Iran would respond to this aggression decisively, following appropriate procedures.

Ghalibaf further noted that comparing the “Operation True Promise 2” with this recent Israeli military action underscores Iran’s strong defensive deterrence capabilities. He remarked that the Israeli regime has achieved nothing but genocide and the massacre of defenseless women and children in Gaza and Lebanon, adding that Israel lacks international respect or credibility.

In a warning directed at the United States, Qalibaf urged the U.S. – Israel’s main supporter and partner in all its war crimes – to take action to restrain Israel, halt the killing of innocent civilians in Gaza and Lebanon, and prevent further regional instability and insecurity. He emphasized that the U.S. must compel Israel into a sustainable ceasefire to avoid a disastrous fate for itself and its allies.

The Speaker also expressed gratitude to neighboring countries that condemned the Israeli regime’s unlawful and aggressive actions. He stressed that maintaining regional stability and defending peace and security is a collective responsibility of all regional nations, achievable only through mutual cooperation and commitment.

Ghalibaf paid tribute to the military defense “martyrs” who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s security, offering condolences to their families and the military command of Iran. He assured that the nation will always honor their sacrifices and remain the guardian of their legacy.

He also condemned the terrorist attack on a police patrol in Goharkouh, Taftan, Sistan and Baluchestan province, extending condolences to the families and colleagues of the fallen police personnel.

Addressing the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission and the Internal Affairs Commission of the Iranian Parliament, Ghalibaf requested a team be dispatched to the region to investigate the matter thoroughly. He emphasized the importance of addressing these issues to help prevent such incidents in eastern Iran.
