WANA (Apr 06) – In an interview with an Argentine television channel on Saturday, April 5th, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, explained that the main purpose of his visit to Tehran in the coming weeks is to reduce the possibility of a confrontation between Iran and the United States.

He warned that this confrontation between Iran and the United States could have catastrophic and dangerous consequences that must be prevented.

In part of the interview, which was conducted with the Argentine network “La Nacion”, the head of IAEA stated: ” So that no one is misled, I emphasize; Iran does not have nuclear weapons.”

 

Grossi, who had previously announced his possible plan to visit Iran in April, claimed in political statements: “Iran does not have nuclear weapons, but it has obtained many of the items and pieces of the puzzle to build a nuclear weapon.”

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency stressed that his visit to Tehran will be aimed at reducing tensions and preventing an escalation of the crisis.

 

Referring to Trump’s recent letter to Iran and his threats against the country, he stated: “In recent days, we have witnessed a letter from Trump to the Supreme Leader of Iran and of course his threats against Iran, including bombing the country. Trump has also spoken about a two-month window to reach a new agreement.”
