WANA (Oct 28) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “All recent diplomatic initiatives by the Foreign Minister have focused on addressing the atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon immediately, mobilizing the international community to assist the displaced, and holding the Zionist regime accountable. We believe that impunity is the primary cause of the regime’s escalating actions.”

Ismail Baqaei, during his weekly press briefing with journalists, said, “The most significant event of the past week occurred on Saturday morning when the Zionist regime committed a miscalculation, and we witnessed a brave defensive response from Iran’s armed forces, marking a turning point for Islamic Iran.”

He continued, “In the past week, the diplomatic apparatus has actively pursued its initiatives. The Foreign Minister visited Kuwait and Bahrain, followed by participation in the BRICS Summit, marking Iran’s first appearance as a full member, where good consultations and meetings took place.”

Baqaei noted, “United Nations Day offers an opportunity to reflect on the state of the UN, as the organization has faced a crisis of credibility in the past year due to widespread aggression in Gaza and Lebanon. This situation is the responsibility of the regime’s supporters, especially the United States, which has blocked any practical action from the Security Council.”

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson added, “Genocide is not limited to Gaza; we are also witnessing various forms of crimes in the West Bank. In the past 24 hours, 150 Palestinian citizens have been martyred, including three journalists, bringing the total number of martyred journalists to over 180.”

Regarding the recent statements by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Foreign Ministry’s responsibilities, Baqaei explained: “Since the beginning of the Zionist regime’s aggressions in Gaza, the Foreign Ministry has undertaken a wide range of diplomatic actions. Iran proposed and hosted the first summit of Islamic countries, along with other meetings at various levels, initiated by Iran. The diplomatic apparatus has used all its capacities to create a global mobilization against the genocide by the Zionist regime in Palestine, and this process continues.”

Baqaei reiterated, “All the recent consultations led by the Foreign Minister focused on urgent attention to the atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon, mobilizing the international community to aid the displaced, and holding the Zionist regime accountable, as we believe impunity is the main reason for the regime’s growing audacity.”

Ceasefire Meeting in Doha

He stated, “The term ‘ceasefire’ is not accurate, as it implies two parties are in conflict, whereas in this case, one side is committing genocide. We have welcomed any initiative to stop the genocide and atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon, but the parties present at the Doha meeting showed they lacked the necessary resolve.”

Iranian Military and Security Forces are Constantly Monitoring Zionist Regime Activities

He further stated that diplomacy and military actions complement each other, adding, “The responses to the Zionist regime’s aggressions have shown that there is a widespread regional reaction to the regime’s actions, and the region has concluded that it must take a stand against the regime’s criminal actions. We believe diplomacy can still prevent the expansion of war in the region.”

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson remarked, “One result of our recent diplomatic consultations has been the conclusion that all countries should monitor the situation and inform each other as necessary. Additionally, our military and security forces are constantly monitoring the Zionist regime’s activities.”

Baqaei noted, “In diplomacy, messages are continuously exchanged, and it is clear that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not relinquish its right to respond to the Zionist regime’s aggression. This is a right that exists under international law, and regardless of messages exchanged, we are decisive and serious in our response.”

Our Position on Weapons of Mass Destruction is Clear

He stressed, “Our position on weapons of mass destruction is clear; based on the decree from our highest political authority and logical evaluations, we do not believe in militarizing the nuclear program.”

The Root of Regional Problems is the Israeli Regime

In response to a question about the widespread condemnation by regional and non-regional countries, Baqaei emphasized, “This wave of condemnations reflects a consensus among regional countries. It shows that they have reached the conclusion that the root of insecurity in the region is the eighty-year occupation by the Zionist regime. They are concerned about escalating tensions and war in the region, and the supporters of the Zionist regime, particularly the United States, are blocking any action from international organizations and the Security Council against the regime’s crimes.”

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated, “We have received important assurances from regional countries that neither their airspace nor land will be available for hostile actions, as it is the natural and legal duty of countries to prevent their soil from being used for aggression. We are confident that no neighboring country has allowed its land to be used for aggression, and Iraq’s government is certainly committed to responding and objecting to the misuse of its territory at the UN to prevent the recurrence of crimes. The Zionist regime respects no boundaries in its aggressions.”

He continued, “The Foreign Minister’s visit to Egypt prioritized regional issues, though bilateral topics were also discussed. Continued talks between Iran and Egypt regarding bilateral relations were also on the agenda in recent meetings in Kazan, Russia.”

Addressing Terrorism in Southeast Asia

Baqaei added, “For years, terrorism in Southeast Asia has been troubling Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Iran and Pakistan cooperate on counter-terrorism, and both countries emphasize the need to strengthen security cooperation. A security agreement between the two has recently been ratified by Pakistan’s parliament. We continue our consultations with Pakistan on various levels, and both sides see counter-terrorism as a responsibility.”

The Primary Reason for the Zionist Regime’s Escalation is Unconditional U.S. Support

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson underscored, “The United States’ approach has always been clear, and the primary reason for the Zionist regime’s increased audacity is the United States’ unconditional support. American officials should stop providing military, intelligence, and political support to curb the regime.”

There is no set date for the signing of the Iran-Russia cooperation document.

Misinterpretation of Iran’s Restraint in Previous Conflicts

Baqaei highlighted that BRICS has created numerous opportunities, contributing value across various areas, as it evolves with new partners bringing capabilities to the coalition, which Iran intends to leverage fully. Concerning the FATF, the Foreign Ministry has submitted its reports and continues to pursue the matter alongside relevant agencies.

He stated, “The Zionist regime must cease its aggressions. In certain stages, we have exercised restraint for the greater good—peace and stability in the region—but unfortunately, our restraint has been misinterpreted. The regime’s supporters should act to rein it in.”

Baqaei concluded that BRICS member states adopt more independent stances on global issues, aiming to promote peace, stability, and security—an objective that the UN, influenced by powers like the United States, has been unable to fulfill.

Security Council Meeting at the Request of Iran’s Allies

He noted, “This afternoon, Monday, a Security Council meeting will be held at the request of our allies Algeria, Russia, and China. It will be an important meeting, and we expect the Council to act under Chapter VII. The Security Council must take a firm and decisive stance. As for other follow-ups, the diplomatic apparatus is reviewing all tools and resources and taking necessary action.”

Responding to a question about whether any fighter jets had entered Iran’s airspace, he firmly replied, “No.”

Baqaei added, “The issue of refugees is complex; part of it involves daily measures, while another part addresses how to approach the issue as a whole. This matter is under review by the Ministry of Interior and other relevant agencies, and we have expressed our views.”

The Iranian People and Armed Forces Do Not Fear War

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated, “We have long understood the U.S. objectives of weakening Iran’s military capabilities, but we will not allow it. Our missile and nuclear programs are integral to our plans. The Zionist regime, the only entity in the 21st century to record a genocide before the cameras, will never be forgotten by history. If we assess the situation based on the regime’s destructive power, crimes, and genocide, then yes, it might seem victorious. But will the global conscience accept this?”

He continued, “Iran has never sought war, but we have no hesitation in defending ourselves. We are wary of escalating the conflict because we feel a responsibility, as a long-standing actor in the region, to prevent the spread of war. The Iranian people and armed forces have no fear of war, as we demonstrated during the eight-year war.”

Iran’s Initiative to Request an Arms Embargo on the Zionist Regime

Baqaei emphasized, “Recently, Iran proposed an initiative requesting an arms embargo on the Zionist regime, and we hope all countries join this campaign to prevent the regime from using Western-supplied weapons in Gaza and Lebanon.”

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson concluded, “We believe the root cause of recent developments in the Red Sea and other regional issues is the support for the people of Gaza in response to the ongoing crimes by the Zionist regime. Stopping the crimes in Gaza and Lebanon could resolve many of the current tensions.”

He added, “The statements by American officials reflect an internal competition within the U.S. to appease the Zionist regime, which is one reason for its growing boldness.”

In conclusion, Baqaei remarked, “Many countries, in light of the Zionist regime’s recent actions, believe it lacks the qualifications for UN membership. A regime that deems the
