WANA (July 30) – According to Iran’s  law, the President must first obtain a vote of confidence from the Parliament for the Council of Ministers after forming the government and before taking any other action.

 

The presidential inauguration ceremony of Masoud Pezeshkian will be held today, July 30th.

 

Masoud Pezeshkian was elected as the President of the Fourteenth Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the second round of the presidential elections held on July 5th, 2024, with 16,384,403 votes.

 

The elected President has two weeks after the inauguration ceremony to introduce his proposed cabinet ministers to the Islamic Consultative Assembly for a vote of confidence.

 

According to Article 202 of the Internal Regulations of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the President is required to submit the overall program along with the names of the proposed ministers, who have relevant experience and expertise, as well as their biographies, programs, backgrounds, scientific and executive positions, and other relevant credentials to the Islamic Consultative Assembly within a maximum period of two weeks after the inauguration ceremony.

 

Therefore, after the inauguration ceremony, Masoud Pezeshkian will have a maximum of two weeks to introduce his proposed ministers to the Islamic Consultative Assembly for a vote of confidence from the representatives.
