WANA (Dec 09) – The CEO of Iran Air, Shamsoddin Farzadi Pour, announced the launch of new air routes and an increase in flight frequencies over the past two months, with more routes planned by the end of the year.

Farzadi Pour explained that due to growing economic interactions and rising demand, Iran Air has been working on expanding its services. Notably, the Tehran-Dubai route has been reinstated, and the Ahvaz-Dubai route has been increased from two to three flights per week. The airline has also re-established flights to Karachi and Kabul, and daily flights to Istanbul have been added.

Additionally, the Tehran-Bombay route, which had been suspended, resumed operations in October, facilitating both passenger and cargo transport.

Farzadi Pour emphasized that the introduction of new routes plays a crucial role in facilitating trade, particularly for exports and imports.

He also mentioned the addition of flights to southern regions of Iran, including the oil-rich areas, and the revival of the southern corridor, with increased services to destinations like Abu Musa, Assaluyeh, Kish, and Bandar Abbas.

In a significant move, Iran Air has also returned an Airbus A320 to its fleet after four years of being grounded. This addition will increase capacity by 1,200 seats per day, adding 56 flights per week and 36,000 seats per month, which will help boost the airline’s economy.

Farzadi Pour confirmed that Iran Air plans to launch at least four to five more routes by the end of the year, with a focus on East Asia.
