Iran and Armenia Unite to Boost Tourism and Cultural Ties
WANA (August 15) – In a recent ceremony in Yerevan, Mehdi Sobhani, Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia, reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to deepening relations with Armenia through a newly signed cooperation agreement between the Touring and Automobile Club of Iran and Armenia’s Automobile Federation.
Sobhani highlighted the significance of a recent meeting between Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Iran’s Supreme Leader, emphasizing the strong political will to strengthen bilateral ties.
Ambassador Sobhani underscored the pivotal role of tourism in fostering cultural and economic connections between the two nations. He noted that tourism not only boosts the economy but also acts as a bridge between people, promoting peace and friendship.
The agreement, signed by Mohammad Hossein Soufi, CEO of the Touring and Automobile Club of Iran, and Arsen Manukyan, President of the Armenian Automobile Club, aims to facilitate travel for Armenian citizens driving personal vehicles to Iran, including the issuance of Carnet de Passages.
This partnership is expected to significantly enhance tourism and cultural exchanges, reflecting both nations’ commitment to security and stability.
The Iranian Embassy in Yerevan views the agreement as a crucial step toward enriching tourism industries and strengthening cultural and economic relations between Iran and Armenia.
