Iran and Azerbaijan Are Relatives
WANA (Apr 27) – In an interview with Azerbaijan’s AzTV channel, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, stating: “Iran and Azerbaijan are relatives. We can unite and work together to build strong relations between our nations.”
Speaking to AzTV, President Pezeshkian discussed Iran-Azerbaijan relations and said: “There are opportunities for cooperation between our countries. What should two neighboring and brotherly nations do? We can unite and collaborate to strengthen ties between our countries. We can develop relations between our universities and discuss trade relations in future meetings.”
Pezeshkian further stated: “Iran and Azerbaijan are relatives. We can help each other and create a peaceful and prosperous life for the people of both countries. Reciprocal visits will help strengthen our ties. Therefore, we must find ways to facilitate travel between the two nations.”
His remarks on Tehran’s desire to deepen ties with Baku come ahead of his planned trip to Azerbaijan, where he will lead a high-level delegation to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and other senior officials.
