WANA (August 11) – In a phone conversation, Ali Bagheri, the Acting Foreign Minister of Iran, and Retno Marsudi, the Indonesian Foreign Minister, discussed the necessity for joint positions, especially among Islamic countries, against the criminal actions of the Israeli regime and the need to maintain security and stability in West Asia.

During the call, Ali Bagheri stated, “West Asia is currently in a critical situation due to the crimes committed by the Zionist regime, and Islamic countries must facilitate aid to the oppressed people of Palestine in their struggle against the Zionist regime.”

Bagheri referred to the recent assassination by the Zionist regime of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau, in Tehran, emphasizing, “This crime by the Zionists has violated the national security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Therefore, a retaliatory and deterrent action against the Zionist regime is Iran’s inherent and legitimate right, in line with international law, international practices, and the UN Charter.”

Condemning the recent brutal action of the Israeli regime, which attacked Palestinian refugees praying at the Tabi’in school, Bagheri stressed the need for all Islamic countries to adopt unified and effective deterrent measures against this regime.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, in the conversation, emphasized that the crimes of the Zionist regime, including the recent assassination in Tehran, pose a threat to international peace and security. She stated, “Indonesia condemns the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh and views it as a violation of the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Marsudi added, “Unfortunately, the Israeli regime has taken the lives of 40,000 Palestinians so far. Therefore, it is crucial to focus on a ceasefire in Palestine, and the unity and solidarity of countries, especially Islamic nations, is essential and important in this regard.”
